I’m Shelley from The Teaching Bank.
I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 6th grades. The Teaching Bank was established as a way to stay connected to education and to continue creating teaching resources after my hearing loss made full-time teaching too difficult. I stay connected through volunteer work in my children’s schools, attending professional conferences, and staying up to date on the latest best practices and research.
My teaching style is to be a facilitator of learning. I believe in guiding my students to become independent learners and thinkers.
My goal is to provide lessons and units for K-12 that are practical and ready to teach with minimal prep needed. I have a large number of novel studies to accompany popular chapter books for grades 1-8. I also provide full-year social studies curriculum for 4th and 5th grade, everyday grammar practice activities, math activities, science activities, and learning center activities.
